Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue from a comedy/dark comedy piece – OR- you may also audition with a cold reading from the script (Sides provided). All actors may be asked to read cold readings in addition to their monologue pieces.

“Gidget”, Frankie and Annette beach party epics and Hitchcock psychological suspense thrillers such as “Spellbound” and “Marnie” are given a shotgun marriage. Chicklet Forrest, a teenage tomboy, desperately wants to be part of the surf crowd on Malibu Beach in 1962. One thing getting in her way is her unfortunate tendency towards split personalities. Among them is a black check out girl, an elderly radio talk show hostess, a male model named Steve and the accounting firm of Edelman and Edelman. Her most dangerous alter ego is a sexually voracious vixen named Ann Bowman who has nothing less than world domination on her mind.

All roles are unpaid and volunteer. All roles are open and not pre-cast. If cast, you must join Dominion Stage as a Production Member ($25)

Please note – this show is adult in nature. The show contains mature themes, sexual situations and some roles will require costuming that will require the actor to be comfortable in minimal clothing.

Character Breakdown and Requirements:

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS	Gender	Age Range
Yo Yo The second scrawniest of the boys on the beach. Best friends with Provoloney, which turns into a romantic experimentation. He is more comfortable with his sexuality but not open. Smarter than he appears.	male	17-19
Dee Dee A sexy girl with not much of a story. More eye candy than anything. Marvel Ann’s sidekick. A little boy crazy.	Female	16-18
Nicky Another Malibu heartthrob. Good-looking surfer but pretty much blends in with the woodwork.	Male	17-19
Provoloney The scrawniest guys on the beach. Has big ideas to make money. A writer, or wants to be. Experiments a little with Yo Yo, but definitely not comfortable with it.	Male	17-19
Star Cat The best looking of all the guys at Malibu, mostly hangs out with Kanaka, since he is the only guy cooler than him, but not better-looking. Not so much a womanizer, but won’t turn down a good lay. Falls for Chicklet in the end.	Male	17-19
Chicklet This is her story. A young teen with multiple personalities. “Chicklet” is an eager, perky, and naïve girl who follows a beat to her own drum. She is much deeper than she appears which we find out through her “other” personas into revealing her true self.	Female (could be played by male)	15-16
Kanaka The big man on the beach, known as the king of surfers. He is the cool guy, and he knows it. The teenage heartthrob, but not the brightest crayon in the box.	Male	20-25
Berdine An awkward teenager who takes to helping out Ms. Barnes while she is in town. Does not really go along with the crowd, but has her own spark that she does not realize she has. An introvert and hopeless nerd, with spunk. Chicklet’s best friend.	Female	15-16
Marvel Ann The prettiest and easiest of the girls in Malibu, will pretty much seek out any man within her grasp. There isn’t much below the surface.	Female	16-17
Mrs. Forrest Chicklet’s mother, strict, composed, a little old fashioned. Over protective of her daughter with traditional views, but with a big secret to share.	Female	35-45
Bettina Barnes A bit of a burnt out movie star, coming into town for a little R & R. Classy, glamorous, one-of-a-kind.	Female	30-40
