June 2018: How I Learned to Drive

Any Given Monday is a play by Bruce Graham. “A dark comedy so offensive, so amoral and so generally unpleasant that you’ll hate yourself for laughing at it. The problem is, you’ll hate yourself a lot.” —NY Post

Assassins is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by John Weidman, concerning the Presidential assassins in our nation’s history.

Thrill Me is a musical with book, music and lyrics by Stephen Dolginoff, based on the true story of Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, the so-called “thrill killers” who murdered a young boy in 1924.

How I Learned to Drive is a play by Paul Vogel, concerning an affair between a niece and her uncle, starting when she is 11 and ending when she is 19.

The choice of the musical will depend on the space allocation granted to Dominion Stage by Arlington County.  We have secured the rights to Assassins, the others are currently pending.  If you are interested in directing with us, please submit the following to by April 15th, 2017:

  • A “Letter of Interest” stating your desire to direct with Dominion Stage and which show you are interested in directing.
  • A basic concept for the show which should include overall vision for the show, technical considerations and other special considerations
  • Resume outlining previous theater and directorial experience
  • 2 references who are familiar with your directing experience and their contact information.

Once proposals are received, they will be reviewed by the Director selection committee and you will be contacted after the review as to next steps.  Please note that all directing positions with Dominion Stage are unpaid.  Thank you and if you have any questions, please reach out to Christine Farrell at
